This is part of a strategic shift towards focusing on evolving the core Dropbox experience and investing in new products. According to chief executive officer Drew Houston, the job cuts were necessary to ensure the company’s long-term success. Dropbox hasn’t specified which roles will be eliminated, but the company stated it was a
