When her family needed money, Nikki Haley found a lucrative path by taking on a number of part-time jobs on top of her studies at Clemson University. She worked in accounts receivable for a medical company, taught Sunday School, and waitressed. At the same time, she took on a role as a sales representative for a women’s clothing company and quickly rose to the top of the ranks in her region for the business. With her earnings, she was able to pay off the family’s debts and help her mother manage the household expenses. She also saved money to help invest in her future career.
