Houthis vow to keep attacking ships in Red Sea despite formation of US-led task force
The Houthis have vowed to continue attacking ships in the Red Sea despite the formation of a US-led maritime task force to secure the region’s shipping lanes. The rebel group said that it would continue to confront “enemy ships” despite the task force’s presence. The Houthis have launched numerous attacks on ships in the past, mostly targeting vessels belonging to Saudi Arabia and its allies, who are currently waging a military campaign against the Houthis in Yemen. In response to the task force, a senior Houthi official said that the enemy countries will bear the consequences of their actions. The Houthis have not officially commented on the formation of the task force.
