Money worries push some shoppers to tighten budgets while others buy now, pay later
When financial conditions are tight, some shoppers may become more conservative when making purchases by taking advantage of sale items, looking for coupons and discounts, and setting specific budget limits for necessary and non-essential purchases. They may also take advantage of layaway plans or alternate forms of financing to help manage their spending. Other shoppers may opt for “buy now, pay later” plans so that they can purchase items they need or want without worrying about their current financial situation. These shoppers may also take advantage of any financing options a retailer may offer, such as store credit cards or payment plans, to help make their purchases more affordable.
