New York Democratic Rep. Higgins will leave Congress in February
On Jan. 16, 2020, Democratic Congressman Brian Higgins of New York announced that he will retire from Congress at the end of his current congressional term in February 2021. He has served in Congress since 2005 and represents New York’s 26th congressional district. In a statement, Higgins said that he plans to return to the private sector and will focus on issues including economic development and health care reform in Western New York.
