 House lawmakers leave DC until September with government shutdown deadline looming

The House of Representatives will not be in Washington D.C. until September, despite the imminent deadline for a potential government shutdown. It’s important that a spending bill is agreed upon and passed before the end of the fiscal year on September 30 to avoid a shutdown.
