In a massive life insurance scheme, an ex-Army staffer pleaded guilty. The accused was reportedly involved in falsifying records to receive payouts from the life insurance policies of soldiers.
The steps of the operation involved pretending to be soldiers requesting to change the beneficiary information on their Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI) policies. They would then change the policies to benefit themselves and later claim the soldiers had died to secure payments.
