Artist Jeff Koons’ Sculpture Becomes First ‘Authorized’ to Land on the Moon, Launches Matching NFTs

American artist Jeff Koons has made history by becoming the first artist to have an ‘authorized’ sculpture placed on the moon. The sculpture, a diamond-shaped piece made from reflective materials which will shimmer and shine in the moon’s microgravity environment, will be placed on the moon’s surface in 2022 in collaboration with the space exploration company Astrobotic.

Adding to this groundbreaking moon project, Koons has also begun offering matching non-fungible tokens or NFTs of the lunar sculpture.
