Michigan Supreme Court allows Trump to appear on 2024 primary ballot
The Michigan Supreme Court recently ruled that former President Donald Trump can appear on Michigan’s 2024 presidential primary ballot. The court issued a 4-3 ruling which stated that a state law giving Democratic and Republican parties the right to decide who can appear on their ballots also applies to Trump since he was a member of the Republican party during his term. This ruling means that it is up to the Michigan Republican Party to decide if Trump will be on the ballot if he decides to run for president again in 2024. This ruling is in accordance with the Supreme Court’s precedent holding that parties can decide their own candidate selection process.
