Elon Musk’s proposed “anti-woke” chatbot was met with significant backlash, as many felt it was an attempt to diminish progressive values and language, not to mention the implicit bigotry of such a chatbot. After criticism from the public, Musk conceded that his chatbot idea was a “dumb attempt” and “poorly executed.” He apologized, adding that he should have taken more time to “think through the ramifications and feedback.” Despite this, he also expressed his desire to work with people to develop a better version of the chatbot.
