Crypto Expert Chosen by Erdogan for Turkey’s Central Bank Board
The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has chosen Emrah Aktas, an experienced financial consultant and digital assets expert, to join the board of the Central Bank of Turkey. Aktas was chosen due to his expertise in the rapidly developing world of digital assets and cryptocurrency, and his understanding of the complexities involved in the financial system.
Aktas has a number of years of experience in the financial sector, and he has worked closely with several banks in filling various consulting roles. As an expert in digital assets, he has lectured at various academic institutions, while also consulting private entities on the subject. He has also written for various publications, including two books, on the subject of cryptocurrency and related technology.
In his appointment to the Central Bank Board of Turkey, Aktas will provide guidance to the institution as it implements protocols related to the cryptocurrency industry. Aktas will also provide insight into the regulation of digital assets in the country. He is expected to help the Central Bank of Turkey gain a better understanding of the technological schema of the industry and devise better regulations to promote innovation while maintaining investor and consumer safety.
