Judge says Rudy Giuliani must pay $148 million judgment immediately

Rudy Giuliani must pay a $148 million judgment to the former business partners he sued for libel, a judge ruled on Monday. A Manhattan Supreme Court judge ordered Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City and President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, to immediately pay the judgment against him. The judgment was issued in August after a jury found Giuliani had libeled his former partners at Dallas-based law firm Andrews Kurth Kenyon. Giuliani appealed the ruling, but the appellate court denied his appeal. The $148 million is the amount of damages the jury determined that Giuliani and his company, Giuliani Security & Safety, should have to pay the firm for the libel. Giuliani has previously stated that he does not have the money to pay the judgment.
