OpenAI employees threaten to quit en masse after former CEO Sam Altman joins Microsoft
OpenAI employees have taken to social media to express their concerns about the recent hiring of former CEO Sam Altman by Microsoft. Several OpenAI employees have threatened to quit en masse in reaction to Altman’s move, citing issues of trust and transparency. Altman had been CEO of OpenAI since 2017 and announced his resignation from the company in late January. He is now joining Microsoft as a corporate vice president in a new role focused on developing further AI applications. OpenAI has not yet named a new CEO.
