T-Mobile sued after employee stole nude images from customer phone during trade-in
In July 2020, T-Mobile was sued by a New Jersey couple after an employee allegedly stole private, intimate photographs from the couple’s old iPhone during the trade-in process. According to the complaint, the employee was able to access the photos without the couple’s consent and then shared the images with friends. The couple is suing for damages, citing the employee’s invasion of privacy and severe mental anguish caused by the incident. T-Mobile has reportedly fired the employee involved in the incident and has also implemented measures to prevent this type of theft in the future.
