How Democrats have soured on Israel

In recent years, Democrats have soured on the US-Israel relationship as the nation’s politics have polarized and as many progressives, in particular, have become more sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Democrats have become increasingly critical of the Israeli government’s policies towards Palestinians and its actions in the 2014 Gaza War. Many Democrats and progressive activists have also voiced support for cutting off military aid to Israel in response to the continued expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
