Cathie Wood Speculates SEC Chair’s Political Aspirations Are Hindrances Towards Judgment Call on Bitcoin Spot ETF
Cathie Wood, chief executive of ARK Invest, has speculated that the SEC Chair, Jay Clayton’s political objectives have the potential to hinder his judgment when it comes to the Bitcoin Spot ETF. Clayton’s primary focus is investor protection, a critical part of his job, and Wood believes this could prevent him from taking a stance on the Shorts ETF application, which has been repeatedly pushed back. Wood mentioned Clayton’s record of dealing primarily with issues in the main-stream financial sphere. However, in reference to the Bitcoin ETF, she stated “He hasn’t had to deal with a disruptive asset, and that’s what Bitcoin is. It’s one of those things that stands as an order of magnitude different from the normal kinds of investments.”
