FEC complaint alleges coordinated disinformation campaign from Biden’s 2020 run
The Federal Election Commission received a complaint alleging that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign engaged in a coordinated disinformation campaign during the 2020 Democratic primary to discredit 2020 Democratic primary rival Joe Biden. The complaint alleges that the Clinton campaign employed a “troll farm” of paid internet commentators, as well as political consultants, to spread “false and misleading” statements about then Vice President Biden’s record and character. The complaint further charges that the Clinton campaign actively worked with the Democratic National Committee to tilt the primary in her favor. There has been no proof of a violation of FEC regulations at this time.
