Israeli president defends airstrikes in Gaza, killing Hamas operatives: ‘We are fighting terror’
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin has defended Israel’s recent airstrikes in Gaza, which killed two senior Hamas operators. Rivlin argued that the strikes were a necessary step to fight terror and protect civilians. He stated, “We are not fighting against a particular nation, a particular people or a particular group. We are fighting terror in all its variations and manifestations.” He added that the strikes “Highlight the importance of our policy, the determination to protect our citizens and our determination to defend the sovereignty of the State of Israel.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also expressed his support for the strikes, asserting that, “Israel will continue to act with determination to defend itself against the terrorism of Hamas and other terrorist groups.”
